Project overview

Boston Academic Consulting Group provides personalized academic and admissions consulting to students and families, including many Korean and international clients pursuing admission to competitive U.S. schools and universities. I redesigned the organization’s website to create a more polished, accessible, and strategically organized digital presence that better communicates its services, expertise, and student outcomes.

Project details

I designed this mobile-friendly, dynamic website for the Boston Academic Consulting Group to provide an easy-to-manage, multi-language site for their international audience.

This exclusive and high-end consulting service needed a website that made them look as good as their success rates do.

Project Goals and Requirements

The previous website organized consulting services primarily by the length of the engagement, such as short-term and long-term consulting. While this reflected how the programs were delivered, it did not align with how prospective clients typically search for academic support.

Parents and students are more likely to look for services based on the student’s current grade level, educational stage, or admissions goal. The website needed a clearer structure that would help visitors quickly identify the most relevant services while also giving search engines and AI platforms more specific context about the organization’s expertise.

Additional goals included:

  • Creating a sophisticated visual experience appropriate for a high-level academic consulting firm
  • Making services easier to understand and navigate
  • Highlighting successful student outcomes and institutional placements
  • Providing a flexible platform for admissions news and educational resources
  • Meeting strong accessibility and keyboard-navigation standards
  • Giving the BACG team control over featured homepage messaging

My Approach

A More Search-Friendly Service Structure

I recommended reorganizing the consulting services around the student’s educational stage rather than the duration of the engagement.

The revised structure includes dedicated service information for:

  • Secondary school students
  • High school students
  • High school seniors
  • College students

This approach allows each audience to find information written specifically for their needs while creating more focused pages for searches related to grade level, admissions planning, academic consulting, and college preparation.

Long-term and short-term consulting options can still be offered within each area, but they no longer define the primary website structure.

Custom Full-Screen Homepage Slider

I developed a custom full-screen slider that allows the BACG team to manage its own featured messaging and calls to action. The slider creates a strong visual introduction while giving the organization the flexibility to update priorities, programs, and positioning through the content management system.

The homepage also brings together featured services, client testimonials, organizational statistics, and success-rate counters to quickly establish credibility.

Student Outcomes and Testimonials

The “Our Impact” section presents testimonials alongside recognizable colleges and universities attended by BACG students. Institutional shields and visual references to schools such as Harvard, MIT, and Dartmouth help communicate the range of student outcomes in a compelling and easy-to-scan format.

Admissions Resources and News

The Resources section functions as an ongoing publishing platform for admissions news, educational guidance, and organizational updates. This gives BACG a way to share timely expertise while building a growing collection of useful, search-friendly content.

Accessible Interactive Features

The redesigned website includes:

  • Fully keyboard-accessible navigation
  • Accessible accordions for frequently asked questions
  • Clear focus states and interactive controls
  • A custom search interface that opens as an overlay above the primary navigation
  • Responsive layouts designed for desktop, tablet, and mobile users

The FAQ structure also helps organize detailed information into clearly labeled questions and answers, improving usability while giving search engines and AI tools additional context about BACG’s services.

What I Custom Built

The redesigned Boston Academic Consulting Group website provides a more refined and credible digital presence while making the organization’s services easier to understand.

By restructuring the service architecture around student grade levels and educational stages, the website now better reflects how prospective clients search for academic consulting. Visitors can identify the right type of support more quickly, while BACG gains stronger, more focused content for traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery tools.

The finished website combines strategic content organization, flexible content management, institutional credibility, accessible interaction, and a high-impact visual presentation tailored to BACG’s audience and admissions-focused services.
